MONTGOMERY – Jersey City’s Tara Fleming won the 2nd annual New Jersey Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship this afternoon. Fleming, 48, shot 5-over-par 78 at Bedens Brook Club for a two-way total of 155 and 10-stroke victory. She had two birdies, three bogeys and two double-bogeys. “It’s nice to have your name in the records for something,” said Fleming, who plays out of New Jersey National and works in Manhattan for AIG, “so I’m excited about it.” Fleming finished 10 strokes ahead of Katie Renoff of Trump Bedminster and Alicia Kapheim of Hopewell Valley. Renoff closed with 80 and Kapheim had 83. Fleming was not in last year’s inaugural NJSGA event for ages 30 and over because she was competing at a qualifier for the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur. 2nd New Jersey Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship At Bedens Brook C, Skillman Par: 73; Yardage: 5,745 Final Tara Fleming, NJ National 77-78-155 Alicia Kapheim, Hopewell Valley 82-83-165 Katie Renoff, Trump Bedminster 85-80-165 Maura Ballard, Raritan Valley 87-82-169 Susan Sardi, Cherry Valley 91-80-171 Maggie Pizzone, White Beeches 88-86-174 Stephenie Harris, Ridge 86-88-174 Liza Martin-Garrubbo, Brooklake 91-84-175 Fran Gacos, Copper Hill 91-85-176 Ellie Yum, Galloping Hill 90-89-179 Kate Platt, Montclair 90-89-179 Colleen Edelman, Ridgewood 90-90-180 Kelly Platt, Mercer Oaks 92-89-181 Susan Kirk, Tavistock 92-92-184 Elizabeth Kunesch, Rolling Greens 93-97-190 Barbara Close, Cherry Valley 94-100-194 Dee Pasternick, Princeton 94-101-195
